We are excited to see educators quickly pivoting to adapt to the “new normal” in a pandemic, and continue to build a pipeline of qualified workforce in Advanced Manufacturing.
For example, one of AMP SoCal’s founding partners, Los Angeles Valley College, is currently recruiting students for its Online Manufacturing Academy, a six-week interactive program that will provide fundamental knowledge of Conventional & CNC Machining, Blueprint Reading, Precision Measurement Instruments, and other related manufacturing topics. The Manufacturing Academy will commence on Thursday, August 20 and a Virtual Graduation/Job Fair will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020. The online program is open to those who are unemployed and meet WIOA eligibility requirements.
To prepare for the program, online orientations are held throughout the month of August on 08/3, 08/5, 08/10, 08/12 & 08/17 at 10am via Zoom. To RSVP for the online orientations, please send email and resume to Roberto Gutierrez at [email protected].
Thank you, teachers and staff at Los Angeles Valley College, for continue providing this valuable program during this time of uncertainty. Your work is essential and important to the manufacturing communities here in Southern California. AMP SoCal looks forward to continuing our partnership and supporting your efforts any way we can.
