During the Mayor’s manufacturing Summit 2020 (watch on demand here), Mayor Garcetti announced a new program, Recovery Roadmaps, in collaboration with our founding partner CMTC. The new program will provide customized plans to guide small to medium sized manufacturers through the recovery post COVID.
Emphasizing the importance of manufacturing businesses, Mayor Garcetti said, “So many factories used their assembly lines to deliver masks, gowns, and personal protective equipment to workers on the front lines of this pandemic, and Recovery Roadmaps will help these essential businesses navigate our new reality and weather these unprecedented times.”
The program’s goal is to assist 3500 manufacturers in the Los Angeles area by 9/30/2021. Each customized recovery roadmap will include recommendations and resources in the areas of Business Continuity and Workforce Planning; Workplace Safety; Marketing; Acquiring PPE; Market Diversification; Local Supplier Matching & Scouting; and Risk Management. Any manufacturer with fewer than 500 employees is eligible to participate.
