The Third Floor, a Hollywood visual effects firm whose portfolio includes “Gravity,” “The Martian” and “The Mandalorian”, has partnered with Slingshot Aerospace, a provider of data analytics, tools and computer vision for A&D industries based in El Segundo, California to develop a training simulator for the Space Force. The Slingshot Orbital Laboratory will replicate real-life physics and help service men and women understand how objects behave in the space environment. The project was funded through a $1 million contract from the U.S. Space Force, in addition to $1 million funding provided by ATX Venture Partners.
