March 18, 2019

This fireside chat represented a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hear from two of the nation’s foremost experts on matters related to cyber preparedness and national security. General (Ret.) David H. Petraeus served for over 37 years in the U.S. military, including command of coalition forces in Iraq, command of U.S. Central Command, and command of coalition forces in Afghanistan. Following his service in the military, General Petraeus served as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. He interviewed Dr. Clifford Neuman, associate professor of Computer Science Practice in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, Director of USC’s Center for Computer Systems Security, and Associate Director of the USC Informatics Program where he oversees computer security curriculum.

Together, General Petraeus and Dr. Neuman discussed cybersecurity dangers, recent cyberattacks, and what actions the U.S. government and military are taking to prepare and what more needs to be done.
