Los Angeles Business Journal Highlights AMP SoCal Partners in Manufacturing Education Feature

The Los Angeles Business Journal recently published an article about manufacturing education. It highlighted California’s Strong Workforce Program (SWP) which is designed to help strengthen career and technical education (CTE) programs through regional collaboration and by preparing more students for high-demand, high-wage jobs. SWP incentive funding provides rewards to colleges and regions that attain these goals. It’s a valuable program that helps mitigate the skilled labor gap that manufacturing businesses are facing throughout the AMP SoCal region. The article featured Robert L. Creighton, research analyst from the USC Center for Economic Development, who provided insight on advanced manufacturing – it also included statements from AMP SoCal partners, Lawren Markle, director of public relations at LAEDC, and Jose Anaya, statewide director of Centers for Applied Competitive Technologies, and AMP SoCal Executive Council member.
